The overall purpose of the role:
The Gender Co-ordinator is part of the DRC led consortium’s URRI Programme Co-ordination Unit and will strengthen gender across the URRI project in the six districts of Terego, Madi-Okollo, Yumbe, Koboko, Obangi and Moyo.
The objective of the Uganda Refugee Resilience Initiative (URRI) programme is to enhance climate resilience for women, men and youth in refugee and host communities and promote inclusive, cohesive and environmentally sustainable development in refugee affected areas aligned with local priorities.
The Gender Co-ordinator will lead the rollout of the Gender Action and Learning – GALS methodology and gender mainstreaming across programming and provide guidance to implementing developed gender actions and recommendations.The Gender Co-ordinator will also lead in the gender assessment and integrate the recommendations into the URRI programme life cycle including, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
