Background:
Saferworld is an independent international non for -profit organisation working to prevent violent conflict and build safer lives. We work in partnership with organisations and communities affected by conflict to by address root causes of conflict and injustice, and improve people’s safety and security, and conduct wider research and analysis. Together with our partners, we use this evidence and learning to improve local, national and international policies and practices that can help build lasting peace. Our priority is people – we believe in a world where everyone enjoys the rights and freedom to live with dignity, free from fear and insecurity, and on the key actors and processes that create conditions for lasting peace.
Saferworld works in partnership with civil society organisations, networks and social groups -including women and youth activists- in their efforts to build peace and respond to the impact of conflict, and by identifying and addressing safety and peace-building needs and actions globally and locally. Our programming stretches across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and in global advocacy centres in London, Beijing, Brussels and Washington DC.
