Job Details:
Job Title: Chemist
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented
and analytical chemist to join our team. The ideal candidate will conduct
experiments, analyze substances, and develop new materials or processes. You
will work in a laboratory setting and collaborate with other doctors and
medical experts to advance our medical center.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute laboratory
testing according standard procedures, make observations and interpret
findings
- Conduct experiments under
defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using
refined scientific methods.
- Organize and store all
chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety
instructions
- Receive, label and analyze
samples (blood, toxic, tissue etc.)
- Record all data and results in
specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
- Maintain equipment and assist
in ordering laboratory supplies.
- Prepare reports for
presentation to doctors and patients
- Develop and optimize
formulations and processes for products.
- Ensure compliance with safety
regulations and maintain a clean, organized laboratory.
- Stay updated on industry
trends, technologies, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry,
Biology or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience.
- License/certificates.
- Experience in operating
electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially
dangerous substances (flammable liquids, infectious bacteria, biohazards
etc.)
- In depth knowledge of QHSE
Systems, preventative measures and laboratory best practices
- Strong understanding of
chemical principles and laboratory practices.
- Proficiency in laboratory
equipment and analytical techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving
skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills,
both written and verbal.
Preferred
Skills:
- Experience in a specific
industry (e.g., pharmaceuticals, materials science, environmental).
- Familiarity with data analysis
software and laboratory management systems.
Working
Conditions:
- Laboratory environment with potential
exposure to chemicals.
- May require standing for long
periods and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Location: Industrial Area,
Bugolobi, Kampala Uganda.
Salary range between UGX 800,000/ - UGX 1,000,000 Gross salary.
