Background and Context:
The Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion is responsible for providing policy, regulatory, and operational guidance in matters related to labour and human mobility facilitation, integration and social cohesion, and migration as an enabler of sustainable development in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It is also the custodian of the IOM Institutional Strategy on Migration and Sustainable Development. It also supports the implementation of programmes to help create an environment in which migrants can support their societies and develop their individual and collective potential to contribute to sustainable development and poverty reduction for the benefit of migrants, their families and communities, and of the countries of origin and destination.
Under the overall supervision of the National Programme Officer and the direct supervision of the Senior Project Assistant LMI (SPA), the selected candidate will be responsible of the following activities:

Core Functions / Responsibilities:
• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the LMI project activities.
• Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics.
• Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget-related information.
• Act as a focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
• Draft status reports, identify shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest remedial actions.
• Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation.
• Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organise meetings, workshops and training sessions.
• Participate in meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nations agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
• Assist in monitoring the work of implementing partners and report non-compliance to the supervisor.
• Provide guidance/training to new/junior staff
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Law, Social Science, or similar field from an accredited academic institution, with at least 3 years of specific professional experience.
• OR
• High School Diploma with 5 years of relevant experience

Experience
• Experience implementing LMI projects.
• Knowledge of border management strategies and policies.
• Experience liaising with donors, government officials and other stakeholders. and a proven track record of resource mobilization.
• Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
• Knowledge and experience working with IOM’s administrative procedures is a distinct advantage.
• Excellent, writing and communication skills.

Skills
• In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,
• Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
• Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).

Languages
• For all applicants, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
