Now, and for the future.
Mercy Corps has built a reputation for innovative economic development programming, particularly working with startups, and hosts a venture capital arm called Mercy Corps Ventures.
The Program / Department / Team
The Jobtech Alliance is an ecosystem-building initiative around inclusive jobtech in Africa launched in late 2021. Utilizing a systems change approach, the initiative is built around two workstreams: (1) We create an enabling environment for the sector to thrive through research and community-building, as well as work on funding, policy, and sector representation; (2) We deliver a range of acceleration activities with Jobtech platforms across ten countries in Africa which enable entrepreneurs to build greater scale, impact, and inclusivity in their solutions. In Uganda, we have a particular focus on connecting refugees to livelihood opportunities on Jobtech platforms, which involves working both with startups and refugee-led organizations.
The Position
The Results Measurement & Insights Analyst will primarily be working with the Results Measurement & Insights Lead to support delivering on the Jobtech Alliance’s ambitious results measurement agenda, and contributing insights for learning and research. We are measuring the impact of both our acceleration activities with startups in Uganda and beyond and our wider systems change work. Our results measurement system requires working directly with startups, users, and refugee-led organizations. This is an entry-level role with significant learning and fast growth opportunities, working on implementing the results measurement systems, with a view to taking on additional responsibilities. You will work closely with the venture-building team and indirectly with startups and partners, as we aim to equip you to be able to closely work with startups and partners. Expect us to move fast, make mistakes, learn a lot, and restart a few times. The role will be based in Kampala, though with scope to travel (~10%) across different African markets.
