We are Africans, finding local solutions to the unique challenges of Africa, in Africa. ForAfrika is driven by a deep love for the land and for our people. We remain before and after others leave. Driven by our five core values: Deep love for Africa, Dependability, Initiative, Compassion, and Discipline.

Our programs are integrated to address the holistic needs of communities and long-term challenges to accelerate sustainable solutions, building inclusive, cohesive, and productive societies. Underpinning this is a deeper analysis and understanding of the root causes of fragility, needing greater flexibility in programming to respond to rapid and frequent changes in the operating environment. Sustainable work is locally led, coordinating with stakeholders, especially government ministries, to build networks and promote interpersonal, intercommunal, and inter-religious cooperation and peaceful coexistence.

Project Summary:

"The Agriculture and Market Support (AMS) has an overall goal of strengthened and resilient livelihoods of smallholder farmers, especially women. The programme aims to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farming households by leveraging market demand as the trigger for collective action, interest in information and improved technology, adoption of good practices, and diversification of on- and off-farm activities to create jobs and improve incomes. AMS focuses on strengthening resilience of local food systems and making them more inclusive for youth, particularly young women. A thriving and sustainable agri-food system is expected to empower smallholder farmers (SHFs), reduce post-harvest losses (PHL), and increase market access, thus creating employment and income opportunities for young people, especially women."

Community Engagement and Empowerment:

  • Engage with community members to ensure their active participation in designing and implementing food security and livelihood initiatives.
  • Facilitate community-based groups and cooperatives to collectively address challenges and seize opportunities.
  • Empower beneficiaries with knowledge, skills, and resources to manage their own food production and income-generating activities.
