Watoto Church and Childcare Ministries has experienced exponential growth in the past couple of years composed of multiple Celebration Centers (Campuses) and diverse Community care initiatives that include Childcare, Community and Neighborhood, Education and FM Radio amongst others. In all of this, Watoto remains a local church, committed to celebrating Christ and caring for community.

Watoto is seeking to recruit a Social Worker to rescue vulnerable babies from situations of abuse, neglect, and other forms of maltreatment to ensure that their social, physical, psychological, and emotional well-being are supported.

Key Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to)
• To rescue and admit vulnerable babies from situations of abuse, neglect, and other forms of maltreatment in the communities in accordance with the criteria.
• To conduct initial vulnerability assessment of the babies, caregivers and make appropriate recommendations to the Baby Watoto team.
• To process and acquire PSWO reports, Local conucil 1 letters, police reports, referarals, care orders, register births and process long birth certificates for the babies.
• To manage an up-to-date WISE and records management for babies in an accurate and consistent manner and preserve an updated risk register with case file for child protection breaches.
• To support and engage vital stakeholders in the family tracing process, identification and manage baby resettlements plans and follow-up.
• To oversee the smooth promotion of toddlers into the Watoto village and ensure information is effectively shared with vital stakeholders.
• To engage and coordinate with other protection agencies in the community for effective care management and make referrals for cases where it is not possible for inventions to be made.
• To implement action plans and recommendations from child protection response meetings.
• To maintain a good working relationship with other Non-Government organisations, other likeminded churches and government personnel for learning and referral purposes.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
• The applicant for the role should hold at least a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in social sciences, Education or Community Development or any related relevant field.
• At least a minimum of two years' working experience in the role of a social worker or in community development field.
• Previous experience working in a cross-cultural setting.
• Demonstrate understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children.
• Demonstrated experience in proposal writing and good computer skills such as Ms Word. Excel. and PowerPoint applications.
• Should be a team player, result oriented, self-motivated, and able to work under minimum supervision.
