Job Details:
Experience and Other requirements:
• A minimum of 7 years working experience, at least two of which at a Senior level in a reputable organization.
• Must be an advocate of the High Court of Judicature with at least 6 Practicing Certificates.
• Working experience in Corporate Governance will be an added advantage.
Qualifications:
• An Honors’ Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
• A Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice
• Master’s Degree in Law or related field.
• Membership of Uganda Law Society (ULS).
• An ICSA will be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support the Director Legal Services and Secretary to the Board and Board Affairs in provision of legal services to the Bureau.
• Conduct research and prepare comprehensive briefs to the Director Legal Services and Secretary to the Board as required;
• Develop and maintain a legal compliance catalogue;
• Conduct legal compliance monitoring in UBOS and for the NSS;
• Design and update training materials/tools and conduct trainings;
• Design statutory compliance templates for the Bureau;
• Design contract monitoring schedules;
• Participate in legal awareness creation throughout the Bureau and the NSS;
• Participate in preparing legal presentations and legal training tools;
• Review procurement bidding documents to ensure compliance with the prevailing procurement;
• Participate in preparation of budget and work plans for the Directorate of Legal Services;
• Coordinate the preparation and absorption of directorate budget;
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Director Legal Services from time to time.
